Hello and Welcome,
Thanks for visiting my online resume. I’m Ryan Madigan and I’d like to tell you a little about myself.
I was born and raised in Queenstown, New Zealand. This is where I caught the helicopter bug watching MD500’s, ASTAR’s and Bell 206’s fly around the Queenstown sky as a child. My first ride in a helicopter was at age 6 with Kiwi deer hunters in a MD500 to the West Coast of New Zealand. At age 12 my parents moved our family to the United States, where I lived and attended school until I graduated High School in 1997. From there my path lead me into the United States Air Force where I served until 2005. While in the United States Air Force, I worked in Aircraft Logisitc’s with assignments in New Mexico, The United Kingdom, South Korea and Romania.
In 2005, I Honorably separated from the USAF and returned to the United States to attend Indiana University where I graduated with a Bachelors degree in 2006. After graduation I did a short stint working for my local congressman in Indiana before moving on to the new adventure due to the Congressman not being re-elected.
In 2007, I was hired by Defense Contractor DynCorp, International and accepted a job in the Sultanate of Oman located in the Middle East, where I lived and worked preforming International Logistics fro DynCorp. I was later reassigned to a DynCorp Position in Kabul and Kandahar, Afghanistan. While in Afghanistan I helped establish Logistical procedures for the Afghan Air Force in relation to their MI-17 Helicopters.
In 2011, I made a leap of faith and decided to leave my lucrative job at DynCorp to pursue my dream of flying. I moved to Florida to attended Flight School. With hard work and dedication I made it from Student Pilot to Instructor Pilot in a years time.
After finishing flight school I worked as an Instructor Pilot and Tour Pilot in the Daytona Beach area and remained there until I was hired to fly as a Commercial Pilot in Missouri for Lake Ozark Helicopters.
After flying for Lake Ozark Helicopters, I was offered a Job in Kurdistan, Northern Iraq to help train and work with Kurdish Police Pilots in the city of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah. At the end of my time in Kurdistan I returned to the United States and secured a job as a Long line Pilot flying an Aerial Saw on the east coast of the United States.
As you can see I have a diverse background in aviation and never back down from a new challenge or new assignment. I am a quick learner and adapt to almost any situation or environment quickly.
When I’m not flying for work, I love to travel and visit family and friends. I have visited over 40 Countries and 6 of the 7 Continent’s. I’m always looking of the next adventure right around the corner.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me.
